Greetings Everyone!!!

My name is Nichelle Hightower. I am a second grade teacher at Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School located in Albany, Georgia. I am married and have one daughter. I graduated from Albany State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education (Mental Retardation). I received my Masters degree in Special Education from Albany State as well in 1998. In 2006, I received my Educational Specialist degree from Nova Southeastern University in Curriculum and Instruction. I also received certification in Early Childhood Education. In 2007, I received my certification in Educational Leadership from Albany State University.

I taught special education for 11 years. I taught students with mild disabilities, learning disabilities, and behavior disorders in grades 6-8. I taught students with moderate disabilities in grades K-2. I changed over from special education to regular education in 2007. As a teacher, I believe ALL children are capable of learning and want to learn.
